American Akita, mix · 1 · Male · Medium
Do you have experience with loyal, independent breeds? Or know someone who does? Meet Summit.
Found starving on Cobb Mountain, Summit has been rehabilitated and is now thriving in foster care.
He's neutered, vaccinated, and working weekly with a professional trainer. He knows basic commands, is non-reactive on leash, and is playful and gentle with the resident cat. He lives for tennis balls, car rides, and being near his people.
His history of starvation means he still guards food and toys. It's greatly improved and manageable for the right person.

Experience: You understand breeds that are loyal, independent, and selective about who they trust.,
Environment: Adults only. Consistent rules, predictable routine. Same expectations every day.,
Mindset: You're patient. Akitas take months to fully open up but when they do, that loyalty is real and it lasts.
Summit has done the hard work of survival. Now he needs a guardian who will protect his progress.
