About
Maya is a two-year-old AKC-registered female Cane Corso, who weighs approximately 120 lbs and has been spayed. She is described as a gentle giant with a loving temperament. She enjoys the company of people and other dogs, loves playing with toys, and is particularly fond of water and snuggling. Maya was originally raised by a family who cared for her deeply; however, due to a lack of consistent preventative veterinary care during her development, several health issues went undetected. Recently, a domestic violence situation necessitated the immediate rehoming of Maya and her housemate. While her housemate was quickly placed, Maya’s medical needs initially made her placement more difficult. Fortunately, through the support of a sponsor and dedicated volunteers, we have secured her initial veterinary examinations, diagnostic X-rays, and a supportive foster home.

Recent evaluations have confirmed that Maya has severe bilateral hip dysplasia and a suspected ligament tear in her right hind leg. Despite these challenges, she remains a resilient and affectionate dog. We believe that with the right medical attention and a committed environment, Maya has many wonderful years ahead of her.
